| The day we all had been eagerly waiting for came and went. And what a day! Last day of exam, and probably the last time we would see most of our classmates. What better way to feel togetherness than have some fun. MMS Awards were so awesome. Had a wonderful time. Thank you all, it could'nt have been any better if it was'nt for you all. MMS Awards photos can be found here. |
We "live" on
Monday, February 16, 2009 at 6:52 PM Posted by Prateek
One System to find them,
One System to bring them all,
And in the college bind them.
In todays world when we are surrounded by awesome technology, we felt like living in the past here! That motivated us to do something about it.
Today, 16th of February is a big day for us. We are going live with a system which will immensely improve the way we interact with each other. Now we no longer have to run behind professors just to ask their mail ids, save on phone bills to talk to friends while working on same project, and most important stay updated on presentation dates, exam dates etc calendar.
Here are some of the features of this system:
1) Personal mail id with a whooping 7GB space
2) Chat with friends
3) Calendar with sms and email notifications
4) Pages for events, committees, course work & personal home pages
5) Online documents, Spreadsheets and presentations
6) Groups for classes and committees and sharing of files

The recent updates on the Challenger front:

Arshad was the hero who scored 2 goals. All girls in PG are asking for him!
Match 2:
MMS-A (Seniors) beaten by PG-D (Seniors) in round 1 in Challenger '09. Too bad, we dint have our star players Avishkar & Ameya.
Team members: Arshad, Karan, Mangesh, Avinash, Gaurang, Rahul, Nikhil, Atul, Rajesh, Arjun, Siddhesh.
Throwball: Exit in first round.
Counter Strike: Our mates who participated in Counter-Strike made us really proud. Something to boast of to the younger generation.
Lost against PG (juniors). I wont say much. Score speaks for itself. ;)
Score:
16-0 (come on we need to give them credit for trying!)
Team: Arjun, Prachi, Gaurang (Captain), Rahul, Avinash Rane.
Until time, keep playing...

The end is in sight. We are reaching our destination.
With the end of sem 3 a couple of days back, our major chunk of MBA is over. While placements are giving sleepless nights to many, its got increasingly difficult to meet "old" buddies. Seems like MBA is over already. Lets make the most of what remains.
And while at it... its time to disclose some really cool features thats kept us busy over the past few days.
1) First is the much awaited blog. Yes, we've got a brand new blog for ourselves. http://crkimr09.blogspot.com/
Subscribe to it.
2) Second really cool feature added is the "Trends". Now you can view the popularity of a profile and the trend of profile visitors over time.
3) Convenient profiles page. There are tabs added on the profiles page for convenience of viewing.
4) Videos and Photos are integrated.
Click here to view class website.
Drop a comment with your feedback. I'd love to hear from you.

One year gone by. Felt like an instant. Time really flies, and that too on a concorde. Still remember the first day of college, the ragging session, freshers party. Cant believe we have attained seniorism (so fast).
This week we had new joinees on our campus, their first day of college. And day before we got an opportunity to interact with them. We welcome them and hope they have a wonderful time here.
Photos of the intro session and freshers party can be found here.

Ad-o-mania
Friday, July 18, 2008 at 8:11 PM Posted by Prateek
I have long resisted putting ads on the website, simply because they take away the charm. But I see a lot of people who earn enough to support their websites running cost. So one day when I had nothing better to do (and lot of time at hand), I thought why not play with it a bit. If we generate enough revenue then we can buy a domain of our own and pay for the hosting charges. So just on an experimental basis, we have put some ads here and there throughout the website (this does not include the image banner ad at the top of the page which is added by our free hosting website 'webng'. I hate it!).
This is just a test to see how much we can collect. If the collections are more then expected, we can channel the excess revenue to other better things.
So long my friends...
Anyone Can Post!
Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 12:08 AM Posted by Prateek
So often I browse through forums. Read it. Think "I think I can contribute here". Click on reply. Start typing a reply. Its almost done. I stop to think. BOOM!!! I click on cancel and leave.
I am sure this happens with many of you. A lot of people think, and think again, and yet again. And then decide not to add anything. I've been wondering why people are so shy to post anything, even if they know about the topic.
One reason is people are scared. What if I am wrong? My friends will think I am so dumb. What if i dont speak any sense? I will be ridiculed. Or simply, why should I share my knowledge?
This way we end up not telling even little of what we can share with others. If we seek information, why dont we give information?
We all have used Wikipedia. Sharing is the essence of Wikipedia and the reason for its very success. Because of this collaborative effort, it has all the potential to surpass any encyclopedia.
In a very non-preachy way I would like to tell you to pleeeeeeze share information. Dont worry if its non-sensical or off the topic. And no, you dont have to be as intellectual as Shreekant, or as analytical as Avishkar. You dont have to write paragraphs and paragraphs (250 word essays are history!). You can be as stupid as Prateek to post virtually anything here. A simple one liner will also do. The point is to take things forward and get interested.
Phew, took so long to draft. Hope all this effort is paid off.
P.S.: The topic of this post was inspired from Chef Gusteau's cookbook "Anyone Can Cook!" from the movie Ratatouille. :)

Long time no "C"
Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 7:45 AM Posted by Prateek
Welcome everyone,
Hope all of you'll have started with the summers and beginning to enjoy it. {no pun intended} ;)
Its been a while since we've seen good development here. This time around, we have couple of exciting things to see.
- First is the new welcome page. I guess most of you'll must have noticed already. We say good-bye to our mascot... crouching tiger. I am so sad, almost in tears... goodbye my friend.
- Stay up-to-date on the profile. A new sidebar displays recently updated profiles.
- Website adapts itself to fit on any resolutions. So no more horizontal scrolling. {well, almost}
If things go as planned, we might get ourselves a blog soon. No more waiting for super-slow-prateek to fill THIS area. {Duh, he's so slow, our seniors farewell snaps stuck here for almost a decade.}
Hap-pee working!
Good-bye
